Routine Maintenance of Corrugated Stainless Steel Pipes
The core of routine maintenance for corrugated stainless steel pipes lies in regular inspections, standardized operation, and environmental protection. This can significantly extend their service life and ensure system safety.
To ensure the long-term stable operation of corrugated stainless steel pipes, routine maintenance should focus on the following aspects:
Regularly check connection sealing: Connections are the main risk points for leakage. It is recommended to check joints for looseness and sealant aging every 3-6 months, replacing gaskets or sealant promptly to prevent safety hazards caused by minor leaks.
Avoid mechanical damage and improper bending: Forced twisting or small-radius bending is strictly prohibited to prevent fatigue cracks caused by stress concentration in the corrugated pipe.
During installation and use, appropriate slack should be allowed to avoid excessive stretching or compression, ensuring operation within the rated compensation range.
Corrosion prevention and environmental management: Avoid contact with media with high chloride ion content (such as seawater and chlorine-containing cleaning agents). The chloride ion concentration in the medium should be ≤25 PPM.
For humid or coastal environments, 316L stainless steel is recommended due to its superior resistance to salt spray corrosion.
When not in use for extended periods, store in a dry, well-ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight or contact with strong acids or alkalis.
