Over the past three years, the logic of liquid cooling deployment for AI computing clusters and supercomputing data centers has undergone a fundamental reversal. Five years ago, the procurement list was almost entirely composed of standard straight pipes - cut to length, beveled, and with both ends easily plugged for delivery. Nowadays, our customers (ODM manufacturers, system integrators, CDU manufacturers) have given extremely consistent feedback: orders for standard straight pipes have continued to shrink, while complex three-dimensional curved pipes, irregular distribution pipes (Manifold), multi-interface integrated pre-assembled components have become mainstream demands. A European CDU integrator once told us frankly that previously, due to the partners being able to only provide basic cutting services, they had to split the purchase of curved pipes, weld Manifolds, flanges and brackets, ultimately resulting in a 60% increase in the on-site installation cycle and a doubling of leakage points. This "semi-finished product" supply model is being rapidly abandoned by the market.

The decision-making logic of the purchasers has been completely restructured. When the technical team assesses suppliers, the first thing they focus on is material compliance and certification systems - 316 stainless steel (TP316L/ASTM A269) is used for fluorinated liquids or high-purity deionized water circuits, while 304 is suitable for the primary side of conventional ethylene glycol water solutions, both of which need to provide traceable MTC material certificates. Secondly, the coverage of processes: can three-dimensional numerical control curved pipes (R ≈ 1.5D without wrinkles and flattening), precise welding of irregular Manifolds, integration of flanges, couplings, and quick connectors, as well as internal wall acid washing and passivation (Ra ≤ 0.8 μm to prevent particle contamination) be achieved? Finally, delivery efficiency: do standard pipe fittings have ready-made inventory support for urgent orders, and can custom parts be delivered in small batches and multiple batches in accordance with the project BOM, and complete water pressure/air pressure tests and clean packaging before leaving the factory? Suppliers that fail to meet these conditions are basically excluded from new project bids.

Behind this demand upgrade is the dual pressure of reliability and cost from data centers. A North American customer once experienced weld seam pitting problems (chloride ions were high + deionized water was continuously circulated) in coastal data centers when they initially adopted 304 stainless steel throughout the project. After switching to 316L, the faults were eliminated. Another customer was even more direct: a system integrator brought hand-drawn sketches seeking cooperation. We only needed them to supplement the interface parameters and flange standards (ANSI/DIN/PN16) of CAD/STEP files, and within one week, we completed the first sample trial and optimized the pipe routing. This confirms a trend - customers no longer accept the inefficient "segmented procurement, on-site assembly" model, but require suppliers to have the full-process integration capability from pipe materials to components, and to pre-control quality risks.
